Paphiopedilum robinsonianum   CAVESTRO

Section: Barbata

In 2013 Cavestro described a new Paphio from the island of Sulawesii (Indonesia): Paph. robinsonianum

The name is named after the "discoverer" Alastair Robinson, although this name has already been given to an old hybrid: Paph. Robinsonianum ( Paph. lawrenceanum x Paph. superbiens).

I also find it unfortunate that the name is so close to Paph. robinsonii (but is seen as a synonym for Paph. bullenianum).

Kew Garden recognized the name of Paph. robinsonianum.
