Synonym: Paph. barbigerum var. coccineum;  Paph. barbigerum var. lockianum

 

Paph. coccineum is only considered by some taxonomists as a variety of Paph. barbigerum seen. The frequently offered Paphiopedilum barbigerum var. lockianum also seems to belong to this subject area. It is likely that these are only local color variants.

Paph. coccineum can be found at altitudes of 900 - 1300 m and can therefore be cultivated at moderate temperatures.
