Synonym: Paph. esquirolei var. hirsutissimum

 

Distinguishing between these species is almost impossible. paper esquirolei is said to have longer leaves, a long inflorescence and more hairs on the inflorescence than Paph. have hirsutissimum.

paper hirsutissimum is found almost exclusively in India at altitudes of 1200 - 1900 m. Since there are hardly any imports from India, the Paph. hirsutissimum tends to be rare in cultivation.
