Paph. thaianum grows at altitudes of 350 to 450 meters in the Phang Nga region (Phuket, southern Thailand) in heavily eroded limestone or clay.

This lady's slipper should be cultivated in warm conditions - with a pronounced winter dormancy period.

Paph. thaianum sees the paph. niveum level very similar; however, significantly smaller (on the left in the picture = Paph. thaianum):
