a dark variant of Paph. villosum?

On a tour of the nursery of an orchid farm, a larger population of Paph. villosum some plants have been found with darker flowers compared to the rest of the plants.

The origin of these plants can no longer be determined as they have been cultivated for several decades.

Paph. villosum is quite variable in color and several varieties have been described.

The images of the plant shown above have been forwarded to appropriate knowledge bearers in the hope that a valid name for it will be found.

It remains exciting to see whether a new variety will be described with this plant or whether it is a natural hybrid.
