Section Barbata

 

Paph. barbatum is found in Malaysia both on the mainland and on the island of Penang. The plants grow at altitudes between 650 - 1300 m and can therefore be cultivated in temperate to warm areas.

There are different views on this: some see it as a particularly dark colour, while others see it with the Paph. nigritum from the island of Borneo. paper As far as I know, nigritum from Borneo is currently not in trade.
