Paph. javanicum is distributed on the Indonesian islands of Java, Bali, Flores and probably also on Sumatra. It is said to grow at altitudes of 900 - 2000 m.

A culture in the temperate - warm range seems appropriate.

 

the Paph. javanicum from Java and Bali has silvery foliage. In middle Java (near Bandung) plants with dark foliage have been found.

 

 

 

 

Paph. javanicum var. florescense has rather dark leaves and the flowers are more colorful:
