Synonym: Paph. callosum var. potentianum

 

In the 80's few plants are like this as Paph. callosum has been launched.

A plant flowered in the culture of E. and G. Potent and was subsequently described by Gruss/Röth in the journal "Caesiana" in 1995 as Paph. potentianum, since it differs considerably from Paph. callosum differs.

The selfing of this plant again yielded "pure" Paph. potentianum, proof that it is a "pure" species - in the meantime it has been suspected that this plant could be a natural hybrid.

The plant was later identified by P. Cribb as Paph. callosum var. potentianum.
