Paphiopedilum venustum   PFITZER

Paph. venustum occurs in eastern India, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh and in the Chinese province of Xizang and grows there at altitudes of 300 - 1300 m.

In the 80's there are tons of Paph. venustum has been exported from India. This species showed itself to be very variable in flowering. Many varieties have subsequently been described. In recent years, Paph. venustum rather a rare guest in our cultures.

Today this species is increasingly offered again. They are best cultivated in a temperature-controlled area.
