Paphiopedilum wentworthianum   SCHOSER & FOWLIE

Synonym: Paph. denisii SCHOSER

 

Paph. wentworthianum comes from the islands of Bougainville and Guadalcanal (Solomon Islands), north of Papaua New Guinea. The plants are said to grow at altitudes between 900 and 1800 meters.

This species is rather rare in culture. It is also considered difficult to cultivate.
